GROWTH GROUPS

It is our vision at Ephrata Community Church that everyone would be saved, rooted, and grounded in Jesus Christ. We also understand that none of us drift toward spiritual growth. It doesn’t just happen automatically for any of us. Therefore, our Growth Groups are intentionally designed as a tool for you to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ.

The Growth Groups run throughout the year in three semesters—winter, spring and fall—covering a variety of topics. We invite you to take a step and commit to a Growth Group that will further equip you to live a victorious and fruitful Christian life.

CONQUER SERIES

Living as “conquerors through Christ who loved us” is a challenge for men, especially since every man faces sexual temptations. We know that fighting to become free from sexual bondage is a marathon and possibly one of the greatest challenges we as men face in life. However, there is hope for any man’s mind battle. Living in purity is more rewarding and life-giving than anything you can imagine.

This series explores the strongholds that keep men in bondage and will highlight why trying harder has not, and will not, work. Featuring experts who specialize in addictions and the brain, the Conquer Series will take a look at many of the ways in which the brain has been affected and changed through sexual addiction.

Commitment: 6 weeks
Date: Monday evenings from February 6–March 14
Time: 7:00–9:00 p.m.

FREEDOM

It is for freedom that Christ set us free. That’s what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:1, and Jesus Himself said that He came to the earth so that we may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10). Just imagine that—life abundant. Not barely surviving, but living in the freedom God designed for you to have. No matter what you are facing in life, freedom is possible in Christ, and this group will help you experience it.

Date: Thursday evenings from February 16–March 23
Time: 7:00–8:30 p.m.

DISCIPLINE THAT CONNECTS: A PARENTING GROUP

How you respond when your child misbehaves will build identity messages that last a lifetime. You would never intentionally send messages such as, “You are a problem.” or “You are irresponsible.” However, these are often the types of messages kids perceive… and those messages can potentially build a lifetime identity.

When parents learn to discipline with a grace-filled, long view in mind, their kids develop identity according to God’s grace and truth. This Group will help you learn:

  • Four key messages that will shape what your children believe about themselves in a way that make them WANT to behave better.
  • To communicate these four powerful messages in ways your kids can’t miss.
  • How to respond with confidence (not confusion) when your kids act up.
